Relo - Sunplosion EP

Some chill alternative rock from Dallas, Relo is what I've been listening to for about a week straight or so. It's not something that I would normally listen to, but this week it somehow made my top pick. In other news, this blog is going to undergo a long awaited renovation soon with some exciting news awaiting. I recognize the lack of posting, but I have a lot of projects that I am working on that hopefully will counter-act number of posts that have been made.

Violent Femmes - Violent Femmes

A moderately mainstream band for this blog, but I feel as if The Violent Femmes are underrated by a large margin. Many know this great band for simply "Blister In The Sun" claiming them as a one hit wonder and disregard the rest of this self titled album. I however, do not do this because I appreciate good music. Yes, the Violent Femmes are good music and I respect them having a strong 30 year run and sadly just breaking up in early 2009.

Goblin Cock - Come With Me If You Want To Live

Been a while since I've posted something, so I decided to up the last album I purchased.
When Goblin Cock released Bagged and Boarded, I didn't think they could follow up such a simplistic, faux-stoner masterpiece. When I heard Come With Me If You Want To Live, I was proven wrong. While Bagged and Boarded had a much more laid back feel to it, Come With Me If You Want To Live is more energized, adding more of the elements that made Goblin Cock's first release a masterpiece. There's Stoner Metal, 70's rock, and that classic Rob Crow sound that's undeniably awesome all mixed together into a worthy offering. If you've been lazy about downloading this album, now's the time to finally do it.

The Black Keys - Magic Potion

The Black Keys are a two-man blues-rock group from Akron, Ohio, United States which formed in 2001, consisting of singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney. The band name was inspired by a schizophrenic artist and friend in Akron, who used the term “black keys” to describe things he disliked or people he did not trust. The Black Keys have roots in traditional blues and psychedelic rock stylings.

Thriving Ivory - Thriving Ivory

Here's something from my home state of California for you faithful bloggers. Although I will admit this genre is a little outside the norm of our indie-rock/underground rap/folk rock/punk rock/etc posts, it is definitely worthy of a mention. I am really sticking my e-rep out on this one but even if a few people enjoy it, I've done my job. What you get to look forward to with this band is Adult Contemporary piano rock meets Smashing Pumpkin's Billy Corgan. I'm just going to say it, don't knock it till you try it.

Songs worth a Listen: Angels on the Moon, Hey Lady, and Overrated.
