Charles Crossingham - Talkers Talk

These tracks by Charles Crossingham kick ass. They start off with the bouncy and upbeat 'That Time in My Life'. This song has unique instrumentals and is just happy, happy, and happy. At times the lyrics get semi-serious but still maintain the overall happy air of the song. 'That Time in My Life' is the kinda song that you want to listen to with friends and dance to.

After 'That Time in My Life' we delve into 'California Tendencies' which sounds somewhat like modern country music but has more of a rock air to it. Its extremely rhythmic, and you'll find yourself involuntarily bobbing your head to it. I really want to get in a car and drive towards the future with this song playing. 'California Tendencies' makes you think about the future and what it holds.

'Choir on Fire' is a bit different from the previous two tracks. It starts out with just a piano playing with very emotional lyrics. Then the other instruments join in and we have a us a hell of a song. 'Choir on Fire' is way more relaxing than 'California Tendencies 'which really didn't seem possible. 'Choir on Fire' uses awesome lyrics coupled with beautiful instrumentals to create astounding visuals to set a very beautiful scene. Just wow. This is easily my favorite song from Charles Crossingham.

In 'Go On Your Way' we jump back to the happy and upbeat stuff that started us off. This song uses guitar to express ideas much like 'Choir on Fire' did with piano. Imagine driving along a coastal highway at twilight and you'll have an idea of the feeling this song gives. I love the guitar use in this song too. As the lyrics start to become more descriptive its hard not too envision everything that's being described.

You owe it to yourself to give theses promotional tracks a listen and then buy the album.

Spraynard - Copy Paste

Alright, this album is titled Copy & Paste and its by Spraynard. They are a small band from Pennsylvania that sings pop-punk. Their music is catchy as all get out, and the way the guitars and drums work together is wow. Seriously, just listen to the album and you'll understand. It kinda reminds me of Latterman's "No Matter Where We Go..!".Anyway,this is an awesome band and thanks go to Andy for suggesting it.

As an added bonus you can Legally download it from ifyoumakeit.com by clicking here. You can also buy the LP at runner up records.

Two Hand Fools - Who's Driving?

Well, I had planned for my next post to be Spoonboy, but I decided that with all of the folk-punk going on I'd post some catchy punk rock coming from Ohio instead. These guys (and one girl) from Cleveland are punk with a little pop and that little touch in there that makes you want to sing along with every word. This isn't their most recent release, they have a newer EP up on worth a listen because of how memorizable (yeah, I just made up a word) every song on this album is. Not because it is really simple, but because of the sheer catchiness (Yeah, I made up another word) that they have in there.

The Taxpayers - A Rythym In The Cages

Let me start off by saying that if you hate bobbing your head, and singing along to songs then you probably shouldn't get this album. The Taxpayers go from Hardcore Punk "White Walls" to Good 'ol sing-songy acoustic/folk Punk in "Bike Cops" to the ridiculously catchy "Militaristic Kitchen" and they do it with some sort of superhuman finesse. Now a part of the Quote Unquote Records gang (that includes Bomb The Music Industry! and O Pioneers!) a lot more people are hearing about them, and that is just too awesome because these guys deserve it. Hailing from Portland, Oregon they have an upcoming tour going down the west coast, so if you are out there definitely hit them up if you can.

Punkin Pie - Broke Truck Good Luck Song

Aside from having a kickass name, Punkin Pie definitely has a kickass sound. This album is full of energy driving punk that will make you dance and shout from ex members of the band Rosa. Their boy-girl vocal bouncing is absurdly catchy especially in Cold and Clammy which is one of my favorites. Another great amateur feeling Plan-It X band.
