It can't be described any other way besides a reggae band covering The Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd nailing it right on. A great infusion of two awesome things!

4 Strings - Believe

4 Strings is one of those bands that you hear about, but you never really know what it is they sing. It took six months before I found out Take Me Away was made by this group. This is their debut album. The songs are sung by Vanessa van Hemert, who has since left leaving only Carlo Resoort and Jan Loechel. I'm a sucker for female vocalists in trance, so next to Ian Van Dahl, this is one of my favourite trance groups. The album itself is varied from slow, ambient trance to faster, louder material one expects to hear at their local nightclubs.

Polaris - Music From The Adventures From Pete and Pete

Don't push this album under the table, it is a keeper. Not only is Pete and Pete the greatest show that ever aired on television, it was the only old Nickelodeon show to make it on DVD besides The Secret World of Alex Mack. Polaris did the entire soundtrack and is referenced throughout the show. They also did the theme song which is super-catchy. Favorite tracks "Hey Sandy" and "Summerbaby".

Yo La Tengo hail from an eclectic New Jersey scene, which has been shown over the years, time and time again, through their music. Sculpting jams since 1984, these guys are vets of indie rock, with longevity and originality to boot. I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass is the group's 11^th LP, and is as confident as the title suggests. The throbbing psychedelica of tracks such as 'Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind', interspersed with the touching bittersweet of tracks such as 'Mr Tough' is testment to this eclecticism. This album shows off the bands technical chops, without compromising their melodic sensibilities. Whatever your taste, there's going to be something you dig on here.

Cap'n Jazz is the core of all emo music. Although being short lived, they were highly influential and helped the emo scene take roots in the indie community. Almost every emo band is influenced by these guys. This is their discography that they conveniently put together. You'll notice that a lot of their songs are band names. It seems that their influence breaks genre barriers and you'll notice a lot of familiar names.

Excellent music, excellent vocals, excellent everything. Members of Halfway to Holland form a new band with new influences and a rocking emo vibe. They come from Philadelphia and are one of my top rated emo bands which I would not expect from Philly. Don't get turned off by the emo tag, Algernon gives more of a Cap'N Jazz sort of feeling than the modern day emo sound but their album is from 2008 so it throws a new element into the genre.
