In 2007, Chicago songsmith Andrew Bird proved that he could follow up his amazing The Mysterious Production Of Eggs, doing so while not only refining his violin-laden, loop-happy style, but transcending it. Armchair Apocrypha displays a much more cohesive and cleaner Bird while retaining the complex lyricism and instrumentation of prior releases.
