Kitty, Daisy & Lewis - Kitty, Daisy & Lewis

I'm home from vacation and ship out west for college Wednesday. For those who thought I quit blogging or something I was simply out of state for a week. I came back to a lot less music than I remembered, but was comforted when I found this album in my library. I'm pretty sure IETF gave it to me but I know nothing about it and little recollection of getting it. It's a wonderful rockabilly band with a 50s feel but they are from today's time period. I think it's a trio of two girls and a guy or something. Oh and they toured with Coldplay because some guy from Coldplay likes them.

Angry Johnny and the Killbillies - What's So Funny

Angry Johnny and the Killbillies is a rockabilly band that is not meant to sound good, it's meant to sound fun. More dancing music for the folks and something to blast in your truck when speeding down the highway drunk with your friends. Not that I condone any of this, but I kind of want to because it sounds like fun when listening to this album. More alt-country because that's what I've been listening to a lot lately.

Buddy Holly - The Singles+

Also... WHY HAVEN'T I POSTED BUDDY HOLLY!??! While being one of the leading forces in what Rock and Roll is today, he wrote cute bitty bop songs and was always America's hearthrob. Take that Zach Efron! He's definitely a classic by anybody who doesn't suck at music or something. Sporting those thick rimmed glasses, all the hipsters wanna be like him. Fishboy also made an entire rock opera devoted to Buddy Holly and Weezer made a song about him. The day his plane crashed and he died was called "The Day The Music Died". I also use that term for the day Fall Out Boy became a band.

Tiger Army - Tiger Army

The first release of most punk bands is always the best. The same holds true for California Psychobillies Tiger Army. 3rd Wave Psychobilly with the the backbone of the Cramps, the guts of the Meteors and better lyrics than both of them combined. This ain't your typical grab and stab Psychobilly album. Nick 13 (vocals/guitar) can work a melody like nobodies business and his subject matter stretches beyond the B-Movie zombies and vampires imagery common to most modern Psycho bands.

Plus.....hell...who DOESN'T like a stand up bass?
