Interpol - Our Love To Admire

This is a request post.

Interpol’s sound is characterized by a dark mix of bass throb and choppy, sparse guitar. They have been compared to Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, and The Chameleons for their similarly stark, sombre sound and obtuse, abstract lyrics.

Amesoeurs - Ruines Humanaines

Amesoeurs was formed by Neige (also member of Alcest and Peste Noire), Audrey Sylvain and Fursy Teyssier with the purpose of creating music that reflects the dark side of the industrial era and modern civilization. They blend black metal, post-rock, and post-punk to create a truly unique sound. Their first release, Ruines Humanaines is a three song EP with just under 16 minutes of music. Some may find the vocals on the first two songs a bit rough, but anyone can appreciate the final track featuring softer acoustic guitars and female vocals.

Gang of Four - Entertainment!

Entertainment! is the debut album by the English post-punk band Gang of Four. Post-punk has transformed into the alternative rock genre we have today. Incorporating punk and even funk, Entertainment! has become #490 on the Rolling Stone greatest 500 albums of all time influencing Flee of Red Hot Chili Peppers directly. "It completely changed the way I looked at rock music and sent me on my trip as a bass player."

Sonic Youth - Dirty

Sonic Youth is known for their unconventional guitar tunings and more recently their cover of the Carpenters song “Superstar” featured in the 2007 movie Juno. Taking influences from The Velvet Underground and The Stooges, it is hard to describe the sound produced by this group.

Les Savy Fav - Lets Stay Friends

Possibly my favourite album of 2007, Lets Stay Friends is the 3rd album from "indie post punk" rockers Les Savy Fav. Combining catchy vocals with jangly guitars, the band gives off an impression of the bastard child of The Strokes and At The Drive In, with a little bit of dance punk for good measure.
